Nasrat Khalid is an ICT and innovation activist currently working with one of the leading development donors in Afghanistan under the South Asia region primarily based in Afghanistan. He was previously engaged with international NGOs, implementing partners, public sector and has succeeded throughout the startup cycle of an international ICT firm throughout the last 10 years with experience of more 8 countries throughout the period. Nasrat’s work focuses on the economic and social impacts of new technologies and development of ideas on how technology could be used in fragile and developing states in order for economic growth, sustainability and empowerment. His education (A bachelors in engineering and masters in management) mostly focused on computer networks, development and management. He has launched and/or is associated with a number of initiatives in Afghanistan such as an Innovation and technology research center for Afghanistan (ITRCA), ISOC Afghanistan, National IT Professionals Association of Afghanistan (NITPAA), and a couple of charity organizations.
